A few years back, I had a Fall Festival for dd and her friends. Here are the ideas we came up with. These are neat and cheap games for a kids party. It was a huge success. Kids don't care how much money is spent, as long as they have fun. The next page also features more games.

Bird Seed Toss
Take 4-inch squares (one for each child invited) of orange and black fine netting. Place 1/4 cup bird seed in the center, gather up sides. Tie with black and orange ribbon.
Place medium sized buckets or baskets, (clean ice cream buckets work great) in a circle on the ground, leaving space between them. Mark a spot on the ground for the kids to stand behind. Give them 3 tries to throw the seed bags in to the buckets. At the end of the party, let each child take home a seed bag to open, scattering the seeds around their yard.

Peanut Race
This is alot like an egg race. Except, it is alot cleaner. And easier for younger kids. You will need a plastic spoon for each child. Use peanuts in the shell. Divide the kids into teams of 2, giving each team a peanut. Set up a finish line at each end, as far apart as you like. Placing one member of each team at each end. With the peanut on the spoon and spoon handle in mouth, have one member of each team race to their partner. No hands allowed. When they reach the other end, they must dump the nut onto the partners spoon. Anyone dropping it before they reach the end must turn back and start again. Let them do this as many times as they like, switching partners. When done, have them throw the nuts out into the yard for the squirrels.

Jack O' Lantern Decorating
You will need either blown up orange balloons or small pumpkins. The number needed depends on how many kids and the size of the teams. As teams, have them decorate the pumpkins, making Jack O Lantern faces. Let the kids vote on which is the best.

Ball Toss game
You will need at least 3 pingpong (hollow small plastic balls) balls and as many short, small glasses as you like. They should be clear. A table is needed for this game. Place glasses in a circle on the table, fill 1/2 full with water. Mark a spot on the ground for the kids to stand behind. One at a time, give them 3 tries to toss a ball into the cups.
