I have learned in the last few months that I have alot to be thankful for. This page is a tribute to all those people who have been there for me. They have shown me I am not alone. It has touched me deeply. And for that I am truly blessed.
I have made many friends online. Friendships I count among the best I have ever known. I have found acceptance, shoulders to lean on, people to pester. ;^) I have been given a chance to be myself, to share my views, my writing, my talents. I have learned alot about so many things. And met people I otherwise might not have; become part of groups that bring me alot of laughter, that challenge me. Whether it's the Websites Promotion board at ivillage, the Crazy Ladies Society or friends made elsewhere (you know who you are).
I'm also thankful to live in a country where I can practice any religion I want, or no religion at all. A country where I can get the education I want, move any place I'd like, express my opinions no matter what they might be. A country where I can be a woman and still have rights. Where I can have any color hair I like, and any length. A country where I can read any book or see any movie.
I am thankful for my wonderful daughter. Being a mother has taught me alot. It also gives me an excuse to play games, read silly books and watch all the movies and shows I remember from when I was a child. I learn about things I might not have bothered with otherwise. I have become more outgoing in real-life; actually gotten some school spirit.
I am also thankful for the nature I have around me. For the opportunity to listen to the birds, watch the squirrels, gaze at the stars. To see the flowers and trees in all the seasons. To watch the lightning in the faraway sky and listen to the raindrops. I am thankful I have eyes that see and ears that hear. I am thankful that I can smell all the wonderful things in the world. I may not be perfect, but I'm thankful for all that I am; thankful that I exist at all.
To all of you, I say this: Thank you. For listening, for loving, for tolerating. For taking the time to read what I've written. You have helped me grow, made me stronger, enriched my life. And I look forward to that for many years to come. For all of you, I am truly thankful. *hugs*
Happy Thanksgiving!
